We are HALE. We are two sisters who grew up, played and now work together to build something that is our own and that we believe in. We are not yet another activewear brand, we are a passion project to empower women to feel their best, because life is complicated enough to dress uncomfortably.
Barcelona is a city of balance: work and play, historic and modern, global and local, land and sea... With this spirit we have carefully designed a new brand of quality activewear for all of us.
We believe people are real, we work, we sweat, we make mistakes, and we keep on going. Our products are inspired by real life.
This is your only life. Don’t just exist, live it.
If you’re not passionate about it, find something else.
Do it your own way, you know better than anyone.
Stay wild, sing out loud, make a mess, don’t be afraid to be yourself.
Don’t mind what they say, there is no such thing in life as normal.
Embrace the difference, trends are not rules.
Fall in love often and hard, starting with yourself.
Question everything, even this.
Never feel uncomfortable, (especially in activewear).
Everything starts by daring to begin.
When was the last time you tried something new?
We work hard to be as sustainable as possible, learning and adapting as the industry is shifting. We try to implement the best practices in production and sourcing of materials, with the goal of minimizing our impact on the planet.
We are committed to limiting our environmental impact and minimizing our footprint. Our mailer bags are biodegradable and compostable. They are made from corn starch and a blend of two bioplastic, PLA and PBAT, and printed with non-toxic ink. They will break down in a home compost bin, or under industrial composting conditions, and return to nature in about 6 months. The mailers also come with two adhesive strips so that online purchases can be returned in the same mailer, cutting down on all the waste.
OFFSETTING CARBON EMISISONS
To minimize our carbon footprint, we have partnered with Offset to calculate the cost and neutralize our shipping emissions, by protecting forests through certified projects and partners. Currently, we are helping the Jarí Pará forest conservation project in the Amazon rainforest. This project reduces potential greenhouse gas emissions by protecting a large swath of forest (almost twice the size of Luxembourg) that otherwise would have been destroyed. It is a REDD+ project that is at the front lines of deforestation in the Amazon today trying to stop clear-cutting practices that are causing the loss of so much rainforest today.
Offsets are not a perfect solution—but they’re a necessary tool, especially until we develop better technology to mitigate emissions. We are reducing the amount of overall carbon that we’re emitting, and if a bunch more people did that too, it would make our climate goals a whole lot easier to achieve.
